Applications for the 2026 Gunyah Artists-in-Residence program are now open!

The Gunyah AiR program has been running since 2011, providing low cost accommodation for short term self-directed residencies for solo, collaborative, family and group projects.

Applications are now open for visual artists, writers, First Nations artists and cultural knowledge keepers, composers, musicians, performers, and other creators, to apply for a 2026 Gunyah residency.

The selection panel for the 2026 Gunyah artists-in-residence program includes previous Gunyah artist-in-residence, Nadia Odlum; and director of the Gunyah artist-in-residence program, Kath Fries.

The 2026 Gunyah Artists-in-Residence Program is moderately subsidised by the property owners, so the cost per residency is $430 for twelve days (or part thereof). A refundable $90 cleaning and key deposit is also required. Note: these fees are for the whole property, not per person.

There will be seven residencies in 2026, each running for twelve days, from the Monday afternoon to the following Friday week. Select one or two of these residency options on the application form:

  • 16 – 27 March
  • 4 – 15 May
  • 15 – 26 June
  • 20 – 31 July
  • 17 – 28 August
  • 14 – 25 September
